Some younger patients who have no cataract but have a strong spectacle prescription and can’t use contact lenses, or are unsuitable for corneal laser refractive surgery, have the option of an implantable contact lens (ICL). This sits in front of the crystalline lens and removes the need for continual spectacle use.
